Large Curtiss Jenny Propeller Clock

Airplane Décor – Own a bit of aviation history with the Curtiss Jenny Propeller Clock. This propeller clock is actually a scale model replica of a propeller used on the JN-4 aka “Jenny” 1917 era biplane. The wood propeller is exquisitely crafted in the U.S. of laminated hardwood and a walnut stain is hand applied to bring out the natural beauty of the wood grain. We’ve added an attractive 12/24 hour quartz clock in the center part of the propeller called the hub. The clock is very appealing as the brass outer ring complements the dark walnut stain. It also features a second hand and requires a “AA” battery for use.

The JN-4 Jenny aircraft was built by the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company for use by the Army Air Service to train pilots during WW I. After the war the Army sold thousands of surplus Jenny’s and the aircraft quickly became the backbone of civilian aviators. This began the rise of new era in aviation which is often referred to as the “golden age of flight”. During this time Americans became enamored with the incredible flying aerobatics of the barnstormer pilot and their fascinating flying machines.
