This vintage wood sign portrays the legendary S-42 Flying Clipper from the golden age of flight. The Flying Clipper or flying boat as it was commonly called was manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft in the mid-1930s and was a commercial aircraft designed for long range oceanic flight. The Clipper flew to, what were then considered very exotic or tropical locations, such as China and Hawaii.

The Flying Clipper wooden sign, which is made in the U.S.A., has an intentionally rustic look for an authentic nostalgic feeling. The colorful design is printed on planks of reclaimed hemlock or alder wood using a tongue and grove method. The wood sign is about 1 inch thick and the natural imperfections of the wood add to the vintage look so no two signs are alike. The Flying Clipper sign is available in two sizes. The standard size sign measures about 26" x 14" and the large size measures about 32" x 20". A keyhole slot is on the back of the sign for easy hanging.
