Airplane Sign – Our Flying Tigers Airplane Sign pays tribute to the 1st American Volunteer Group that became known as the Flying Tigers. The unit was actually formed by volunteers from the branches of the Army, Air Force and Marine Corps. The group was active prior to America’s entrance into WW II and the squadron became identified with the fierce tiger shark face.
This exceptionally produced airplane sign uses heavy gauge American steel to construct the distinctive yet durable design. The process begins with a powder coating applied to the steel plate that is baked. This gives the sign its vibrant colors while providing a strong and sturdy finish. A coat of antiquing is then applied by hand to give the sign a somewhat aged look. Finally rivets are drilled into the metal to make the sign easy to hang. The Flying Tiger sign measures approximately 35" long by 10" high. Please allow 3-4 days for production of this stunning sign.
