American Airlines DC-7 Model

This beauty of a model plane is of the American version of the Douglas DC-7 aircraft originally developed by McDonnell Douglas and delivered to Fort Worth, TX. American Airlines wanted an aircraft that could fly the entire width of the United States, coast to coast. The issue was that the Civil Air Regulations, (now FAA) allowed flight crews to stay in the air for only eight hours in any 24 hour period. This plane was the first commercial airliner to beat that time constraint. A great gift for an airplane enthusiast.
