F-104C Starfighter Model

Our Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is a replica wood scale model of the Lockheed fighter-bomber used often during the Cold War. Originally a day figher for the USAF it was converted to all weather in the late 1960s. The Starfighter's airframe was mostly metal made from duralumin. The fusalage was 2.5 times longer than the wingspan. This radical and controversial wing design of being very small, not swept or delta was deemed most efficient for supersonic flight. The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter model is an authentic, extraordinary replica of the original aircraft that has been faithfully reproduced with kiln dried Philippine mahogany wood. Each model is meticulously carved, hand sanded and painted following exact blueprint details of the original aircraft. The result is a handsome, wood airplane sculpture to be admired and enjoyed. It also arrives with an attractive wood base for display.
