F-117A Nighthawk Model Airplane
The single seat Nighthawk (Lockheed F-117A) was the first actual operational aircraft to demonstrate stealth technology. It has a top speed of 648 MPH. The decision to produce the F-117A was made on 1 November 1978, and a contract was awarded to Lockheed Advanced Development Projects, popularly known as the Skunk Works, Lockheeds secretive facility in Burbank, CA. It was retired in 2008.
