The MQ-1 Predator is an unmanned aerial vehicle for reconnaissance role. The MQ-1 Predator was developed as an Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) program and has participated in various training exercises, deployments and other operational deployments. In October 2001, the MQ-1 was deployed to Afghanistan, providing intelligence and a strike capability in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The Predator participated in Roving Sands 1995, an annual exercise held in the southwestern United States and it played a substantial role during its deployment to the European theater in the summer of 1995. Since 1995, MQ-1s have been operational in Bosnia for its intelligence gathering capabilities and it served in over 600 missions.
