This Air Force One Model Airplane is a scale model of the original VC-137 number 26000 aircraft. It is the first of the two modified Boeing 707 aircraft specifically designed for the President of the United States. Our VC-137 Air Force One Model Airplane is crafted from wood and is an impressive aviation gift. John F. Kennedy was the first president to use Air Force One and this VC-137 was in service from 1962-1998. Although it was replaced in 1972 it was kept as a back-up. Interestingly when POTUS is not on board the call sign is SAM (Special Air Mission) 26000. The original Air Force One can be seen at the National Museum of the USAF near Dayton, Ohio.
